Somewhere between hip and quirky, Sumo stands tall.
About six feet tall in fact.
When I was a teenager, the clothing industry didn’t acknowledge tall girls. Pedal-pushers were long gone, and capris and cropped pants were still just a gleam in the fashion designer’s eye.
Tired of the comments about my unfashionable pants lengths (“expecting a big rain,
sumo?”), I started making my own clothes.
Fortunately times change, and these days long lengths are available. Now I can turn my sewing and creating talents to the thing that make me happiest.
Bags are my bag.
I love to use reclaimed and vintage fabrics, although, at times, a fresh new cotton print may call out
to me, as did a thrift store sundress that is now a beach tote.
I don’t enjoy making the same thing twice, which is why some of my bags are truly one of a kind.
You will find the label “uno by sumo” on these, and it’s your guarantee that nobody else will be
carrying your bag. Bags and purses by sumo are sturdy, well constructed, and hand-made by me in my smoke-free home.
Somewhere between hip and quirky.
If you have something you want refashioned, redesigned, or made from scratch from your favorite fabric, I can make it for you.

Wow! I have to say I “second” every word Luane said. Great site, great bags, great writing. Hip, quirky, and, well, great!
